Admission process

How does the Finnish joint application work?

Almost everything goes through Studyinfo in one January window, with an entrance exam and a scholarship decision issued alongside the offer.

  1. 1

Apply in the January joint application

The main round for English-taught Bachelor's and Master's runs in early January on Studyinfo. Missing it usually means waiting a full year.

  2. 2

Sit the entrance exam or SAT

Bachelor's applicants take the shared national entrance exam or submit SAT scores; universities of applied sciences run their own selection test.

  3. 3

    Submit certified education documents

Officially certified copies of your degree or Class 12 certificate must reach the university by the stated deadline โ€” scanned uploads alone are not enough.

  4. 4

Read the scholarship terms in the offer

Scholarships of 50โ€“100% of tuition are awarded with the offer and depend on completing 55 ECTS a year. The tuition you actually pay is decided at this point.

  5. 5

Accept and apply for the residence permit

Accept by the stated date, pay tuition after any waiver, then apply online with proof of โ‚ฌ800 per month and insurance.

What quietly costs students an intake in Finland

  • Missing the single January window.
  • Assuming the scholarship renews automatically regardless of credits earned.
