How to read this page

  • EstimateA planning figure built from ranges and typical student spending. Not a quotation and not policy.

The full United Kingdom hub — admissions, visa steps, city costs and student life — is being written. The figures above are verified essentials; confirm them on the official immigration and university portals before making decisions.

Admission process

What is the UCAS and CAS sequence for the UK?

Bachelor's applications go through UCAS with a January deadline; Master's applications go directly to universities, and both end with a CAS number before the visa.

  1. 1

    Bachelor's: apply through UCAS

One UCAS application covers five choices, with a late-January equal-consideration deadline and mid-October for Oxford, Cambridge, medicine and dentistry.

  2. 2

    Master's: apply directly, early

Postgraduate admission is rolling from September to spring. Russell Group business and computing courses close early for international applicants.

  3. 3

Prepare the personal statement and references

The UK weighs the personal statement heavily — it should explain the subject choice, not your life story. Two academic references are standard.

  4. 4

Accept and pay the deposit to receive the CAS

The CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is issued only after you accept unconditionally and pay the deposit. No CAS, no visa application.

  5. 5

    Apply for the Student visa

Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge, show maintenance funds held for 28 consecutive days (£1,483/month London, £1,136 elsewhere) and book biometrics.

What quietly costs students an intake in United Kingdom

  • Breaking the 28-day fund-holding rule by moving money late.
  • Applying for the visa before the CAS is issued.
